Finding Stillness in the Chaos: The Power of Moving Meditation

Let’s be honest most of us don’t have an hour to sit cross-legged in silence with soft music playing in the background. Especially if you’re managing a household, caring for others, or running a business rooted in healing like I do, finding time to “properly” meditate can feel like one more thing on the to-do list.
But here’s what I’ve learned, not from books or teachers, but from Spirit and lived experience: Meditation isn’t always about stillness. It’s about presence.
That means meditation can happen while you're folding laundry, scrubbing dishes, or rinsing shampoo from your hair. It can happen in motion. It’s not about escaping your life; it’s about dropping into it more fully.
Moving Meditation: What It Really Means
Moving meditation is a way to connect with yourself, Spirit, and the moment even while your hands are busy. It’s a state of awareness, not a specific posture or practice.
You don’t need incense, a cushion, or a perfectly quiet room.
You need presence.
When I do the dishes, I ground by feeling my feet press into the floor and noticing the warmth of the water on my hands.
When I’m showering, I imagine the water washing away not just the physical, but any energy I’ve picked up that’s not mine to hold.
When I’m doing laundry, I center by breathing deeply and imagining each inhale flowing into my heart space reminding myself I’m here, I’m safe, and I’m allowed to be human.
Everyday Grounding, Centering & Shielding
You don’t have to sit down to spiritually align. Here’s how these core practices can show up while living your life:
Grounding: While walking from your car to your door, feel each step. Imagine roots connecting from your feet into the Earth. Even if it's concrete, imagine the energy pulling you down in a good way. It is solid, safe, stable.
Centering: Centering is about coming back to yourself. When the kids are yelling or you’re overwhelmed by your to-do list, pause. Put one hand on your heart and one on your stomach. Breathe. That’s you, that’s your center. It’s still there.
Shielding: Before going into a store, or scrolling online, or walking into a room that’s not yours to hold emotions in. Try to imagine a bubble of light around you. Not a wall to shut the world out, but a filter that keeps your energy yours.
You Don’t Have to Escape Your Life to Be Spiritual
Meditation doesn’t have to be separate from your life. Your life is the meditation. Every dish you wash, every floor you sweep, every sock you fold, those can be holy moments when done with awareness and love.
Especially if you're walking the path of healing. It is even more important to remember that sacred space isn’t only something we create for others. We are allowed to create it for ourselves, too.
So if you’ve been feeling like you’re “failing” at meditating I’m here to tell you, you’re not. You might already be doing it. You’re just doing it in motion. And that’s beautiful.
This is your reminder: You don’t have to wait for silence. You just have to show up, moment by moment.
And if you want support creating small sacred practices throughout your day, I’d love to guide you. My 1:1psychic mediumship mentorship and intuitive sessions are rooted in real life. No fluff. Just soul.
