Grief changes you. It softens some parts and hardens others. It brings you to your knees, cracks you open, and somehow, amidst the ache and the silence, it also awakens something within you .... your intuition.


When my brother passed, I wasn’t prepared for the kind of grief that would follow. It wasn’t just sadness. It was a soul deep rupture. But along with that pain came something unexpected. A quiet voice that I hadn’t really listened to before. A knowing. A nudge. A pull. That voice became my compass when the world stopped making sense. It still is.

What is Intuition, Really?


Intuition is your soul’s voice. It’s the whisper beneath the noise, the inner knowing that doesn’t always make logical sense but feels undeniably true. It's the sensation you get when something just feels or perfectly aligned, before your mind can catch up.


We all have it. Some of us just haven’t been taught how to listen.


Grief tends to amplify it. Maybe it’s because loss strips away the superficial. When the world around us stops, our inner world starts speaking louder. The signs, the gut feelings, the dreams. They’re all part of this intuitive guidance system that wants to help us heal and connect.


Intuition Is a Bridge


For many people, the pain of loss sparks a spiritual awakening. You start asking deeper questions: Are they really gone? Can they still hear me? Is there more than this?


Intuition becomes the bridge between the physical and the unseen. It's how we sense our loved ones’ presence. This could be through a sudden thought, a chill on the neck, a familiar song on the radio, or that unshakable feeling that someone is near.


When we begin to trust our intuition, we begin to trust that love never dies.


How Intuition Can Support the Grieving Process


  1. It validates your experiences. You're not "making it up" if you sense a loved one’s presence. Intuition helps you trust those moments instead of dismissing them.


  2. It reconnects you to your inner strength. Grief can leave us feeling powerless. Intuition reminds you that you still have access to wisdom and guidance, even when everything else feels out of control.


  3. It helps you find meaning. Through signs, synchronicities, and inner nudges, intuition can lead you to healing conversations, spiritual support, and a renewed sense of purpose.


  4. It keeps the dialogue open. Love doesn’t end when someone dies and neither does connection. Intuition helps you continue the conversation in a new way.


How to Tune In to Your Intuition During Grief


  • Get quiet. Spend even a few minutes a day in silence or meditation. Grief is loud—your intuition is not.


  • Ask and listen. Ask your loved one for a sign. Then stay open to how it shows up.


  • Trust your body. Often, intuitive messages come as physical sensations—goosebumps, tightness, warmth, or butterflies.


  • Journal it. Write down what you sense or feel. You might start noticing patterns or repeated symbols.


  • Seek validation. A session with a trusted medium can confirm what your soul already knows.


Grief cracks us open, but sometimes, what pours out is a deeper connection to ourselves, our loved ones in Spirit, and the divine.


Your intuition is not just a coping tool. It’s a sacred gift. It can’t take away the pain of loss, but it can help you find your way through it.
